Pittosporum Bannow Bay 2ltr pot

£5.00

The Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Bannow Bay' (also known as 'Breebay') is a compact, evergreen shrub well-regarded for its colour-changing, grey-green leaves with creamy-white margins that deepen to pink and then rich burgundy in winter.

  • Foliage: The standout feature is its seasonal foliage transformation: new leaves are pale green with a cream edge, then acquire pink hues in summer, and turn a deep maroon/burgundy in winter. The leaves are oval, glossy, and have a distinctive wavy margin.
  • Flowers: In late spring to early summer, small, bell-shaped, fragrant purple-brown flowers may appear, followed by dark grey seed capsules.
  • Size: It has a compact, mound-forming habit, typically reaching an ultimate height and spread of 0.5 to 1 meter (approx. 3.3 ft) within 2-5 years.
  • Uses: Due to its dense, bushy growth and manageable size, it is ideal for containers, low hedging, topiary, or as a focal point in borders. It is also suitable for coastal, cottage, and city garden schemes
