Woodwardia fimbriata - 1ltr pot

£4.00

Woodwardia fimbriata, commonly known as the Giant Chain Fern, is the largest fern native to North America. It is prized for its massive, arching fronds and structural presence in shady landscapes. In the wild, fronds can reach 2–3 meters in length. In cultivation (particularly in the UK), it typically reaches a height of 1–1.5 meters and a spread of up to 1 mete. It features large, leathery, apple-green fronds that are "bipinnately compound" (twice-divided). Its common name comes from the unique, chain-like arrangement of the spore-bearing sori on the underside of its leaflets.  Unlike many other Woodwardia species, its new growth is green rather than red, and it does not produce bulbils on its leaves.
