It is particularly useful for brightening up dark corners or underplanting trees.  Prefers moist, humus-rich soil but is notably tolerant of various soil types, including acidic conditions and even dry shade once established. Fully hardy in the UK, making it a reliable choice for woodland gardens or shaded borders.
