It is a "medium-height" dwarf variety, typically reaching 6 to 8 feet (approx. 2 metres) tall. Its name literally translates from French to "Large Dwarf". Known for producing massive bunches—sometimes weighing up to 150 lbs—filled with firm-fleshed, sweet fruit. It features a stout green pseudostem often marked with reddish or rusty speckling. The leaves are large, paddle-shaped, and solid green. It has better wind resistance than other dwarf varieties and is highly productive, making it a favourite for both home gardens and commercial plantations.
