Acacia baileyanna Purpurea - 3ltr pot

Acacia baileyana 'Purpurea', also known as the purple Cootamundra wattle, is a fast-growing, large evergreen shrub or small tree featuring striking plum-purple young foliage that matures to a silvery-grey-blue.

• Flowers: Masses of fluffy, bright yellow, fragrant ball-shaped flower heads appear in late winter to early spring.

• Size: Grows to approximately 5 to 8 meters (15 to 25 feet) tall with a similar spread, though it can be pruned to maintain a smaller size or grown in a large container.

• Origin: Native to New South Wales, Australia. 

Care and Cultivation

• Light: Requires full sun.

• Soil: Prefers well-drained, neutral to acidic soils.

• Hardiness: Tender to frost; hardy down to about -5°C (23°F) once established. It needs a warm, highly sheltered spot, such as against a south-facing wall, or protection in a conservatory during harsh winters.
